CJEI and the Yang Tan Institute Welcome Pinkerton Fellow

ILR’s Criminal Justice and Employment Initiative and the Yang Tan Institute are happy to welcome to Cornell, Pinkerton Fellow Marco Tang. Mr. Tang is a student at CUNY’s John Jay College and will be working for a year with CJEI and YTI in a variety of areas, including program design and delivery, outreach and fundraising, research and data collection, and website and marketing.

The Pinkerton Fellowship Initiative was started in 2012 in partnership with the Pinkerton Foundation; it offers exceptional John Jay juniors and seniors the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the juvenile justice field. The Fellowship also provides compensation to the students and one-on-one career coaching.

Pinkerton Fellows are students interested in careers in juvenile justice and direct service. They are placed with leading nonprofit agencies committed to serving NYC’s justice-involved youth. During their fellowships, they participate in a rigorous academic program and attend professional development workshops and trainings.
