Skinner Speaks at the Canadian Labour Congress Convention
Lara Skinner, Director of the Worker Institute’s Labor Leading on Climate Initiative will participate in panel session “A Climate Action Agenda” at this Thursday’s, June 10th Canadian Labour Congress Convention pre-event. The panel will discuss how to build an equitable net-zero Canadian economy, where all jobs are both green and decent, and the role of workers and unions in meeting the need for ambitious climate action, driven by concrete plans for a just transition for workers and communities, with quality, low-carbon jobs for all.
The keynote speaker is Autumn Peltier, Wiikwemkoong First Nation, and in addition to Skinner, panelists are Matt Wayland, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Chris Wilson, Coalition of Black Trade Unionists, and Grace Moyo, Toronto Community Benefits Network QuickStart Graduate. The session will be hosted by Samantha Smith, Just Transition Centre, ITUC.
