Go Big Red! Policy Beats Harvard - Not Once, But Twice!
Cornell policy debate traveled to Winston-Salem for an intense national tournament last weekend.
Just a week after dominating at the United States Military Academy, Cornell’s Policy Debate team traveled to Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where they competed in the Varsity league of one of this season’s hardest tournaments. With 123 entries in the Varsity division alone, the competition was extremely intense. Despite this, Cornell teams comprised of Mia Barratt and Absa Diop, along with Matthew Dye and Hyun Lim, managed to beat Harvard – not once, but twice! (Go big Red!). While not an official round, Cornell later challenged the United States Military Academy to a debate round in the airport – which Cornell won hands down.
Overall, Cornell had a fantastic time traveling to North Carolina and is heading back to Ithaca to prep for the Big Tent Tournament in early December and the competition that next semester will bring.
