They will help fill critical needs we have as well as bring a wealth of vital experience and new energy and vision to the Worker Institute. Anne Marie Brady
Anne Marie Brady is the Senior Extension Associate – Research Director, Worker Rights and Equity. Anne Marie holds a Ph.D. in Social Policy Research from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Her dissertation work explored the role of active labor market policies in assisting the long-term unemployed integrate into the regular labor market under Germany’s Hartz IV welfare and labor market reforms. She is trained in both quantitative and qualitative methods of social and labor market policy research and has a 10 -year record of designing research projects with a variety of stakeholders in the policy-making process. With a commitment to inclusion and diversity across different dimensions of race and gender, she has written and conducted research that pursues inquiry across a range of issues from research into low-wage and precarious work, income maintenance and poverty reduction, unemployment support and training, education, and housing.
She comes to the Worker Institute from the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF), where she led the social and labor market policy portfolio for GMF Cities, a program that works with local, state, and national stakeholders in the U.S. and in Europe in the formulation of practical and actionable policy recommendations. At GMF she managed the Transatlantic Expert Group on Building Partnerships on the Future of Work, a project of the European Commission, where she managed a working group of high ranking American and European policymakers, union leaders, academic researchers, and practitioners working to identify best practices to provide social protection for those in non-traditional work, including jobs mediated through online platforms. The group recommendations will inform the Commission’s joint European Union-U.S. policy agenda in the near future.
Anne Marie has also investigated individual’s everyday experiences of poverty and social exclusion through work she has done with the Centre for the Analysis of Social Exclusion (CASE) and LSE Housing and Communities at the London School of Economics (LSE). At the City University of New York (CUNY) she designed and conducted program evaluations, including the evaluation of the Hollis Gardens Sustaining Veteran Success Program, an NYS workforce development program run by CUNY. In addition, during her tenure at Stewards of Affordable Housing for the Future (SAHF), she led a team of policymakers and practitioners advocating for policies to preserve affordable multifamily rental housing (Section 8, Section 202, LIHTC). Anne Marie holds a B.A. in History and German from Creighton University, an M.A. in Medieval History from Fordham University, an M.Sc. in Social Policy and Planning and a Ph.D. in Social Policy Research from the London School of Economics (LSE). Elaine Kim
Elaine Kim joins the Worker Institute's Labor Leadership Team as a Senior Extension Associate. She has more than 20 years experience in social justice movement leadership. For the last 13 years, she has worked at SEIU 32BJ, serving in a variety of capacities, including as a Special Assistant to (then) President Mike Fishman. Most recently, she helped lead an organization-wide strategic planning process leading to the establishment of key organizational change initiatives at the union.
Prior to her time at SEIU 32BJ, she worked in queer and Asian-American communities, and she started her time in the movement organizing low-income communities around welfare issues at Community Voices Heard. We are confident Elaine will bring to our team a powerful body of expertise and wisdom informed by years of building skills and connections.

Tamara Robinson
Tamara Robinson is a Senior Extension Associate working on the Labor Leadership Programs team and a graduate of our Union Leadership Institute! Most recently she has been doing organizational and leadership development work with many of our labor partners and comes highly recommended by them. She has experience as a leader in multiple unions, including AFSCME, CIR, and the Kaiser Coalition of Unions. She has worked in different regions of the country with different union functions, including worker organizing and political organizing. She has led organizing teams and acted as an internal Organizational Development consultant. She also has experience with DEIJ! She will be a tremendous addition to the Worker Institute and ILR School, and I’m thrilled she has brought her gifts to our team. Tamara can be reached at: tr295@cornell.edu.
Arianna Schindle
Arianna Schindle joins the Worker Institute as an Extension Associate for Training and Organizational Development under the Worker Rights and Equity Team. Arianna brings to this role more than 12 years of experience in the design of training and curriculum to assist the community, labor, and social justice movement leaders transform their organizations and building worker and grassroots power. She is a leading practitioner of adult theories of learning with a trauma-informed and language justice lens to create transformative peer training curriculum modules.
Arianna's accomplishments in the field of adult learning include co-founding the Delfino Leadership Institute, education & training collective with NYS Worker Centers; designing training programs for the Drivers Guild representing Uber and Lift drivers in cities across the US; developing a training institute for Mexican guest workers with the Centro de los Derechos del Migrante (CDM); and elevating the Worker Institute's Equity @ Work “We Rise Nanny Peer Training Certificate Program," to become a key component of NDWA's Care Forward campaign, a community-based model seeking to raise wages and industry standards for workers in the care economy. She also has experience leading organizational audits and trainings design on sexual harassment & domestic violence prevention for labor unions such as SEIU, UNITEHERE, and several building trade unions.
Arianna holds an M.S. of Public Health & Policy from the City University of NY and an M.S. on Community Health & Program Planning from the Silberman School of Social Work.
