Graduate Programs

The ILR School offers several graduate degree programs. These programs cover a diversity of topics related to labor and human resource studies including collective bargaining, labor history, labor law, organizational behavior, human resource management, labor economics, and social statistics. MILR, MPS and MS/PhD students with majors or minors in collective representation or international and comparative labor will have many opportunities to work directly with Worker Institute faculty on research and education projects.

Masters of Industrial and Labor Relations (MILR), Ithaca. This full time 2 year, 48 credit program is a leading professional degree program in the area of human resources and labor relations. Students select from one of five concentrations (1) Human Resources and Organizations, (2) Collective Representation, (3) Dispute Resolution, (4) Labor Market Policy, and (5) International and Comparative Labor. MILR students interested in Collective Representation and International and Comparative Labor are also eligible for the Eleanor Emerson Fellowship.

Master of Professional Studies (MPS), New York City. This part-time graduate program offers a unique opportunity for working adults to earn a Master’s degree from the leading school of industrial and labor relations in the country. The program covers a diversity of topics related to labor and human resource studies including collective bargaining, labor history, labor law, organizational behavior, human resource management, labor economics, and social statistics. This 30 credit, two year program is based in New York City.

MS/Ph.D in Industrial and Labor Relations, Ithaca. The Master of Science (MS) and PhD degrees in Industrial and Labor Relations are appropriate for students considering an academic or research career in human resources or labor relations.
