Doellgast Appointed Anne Evans Estabrook Professor

The Cornell Board of Trustees has approved the appointment of Virginia Doellgast as the Anne Evans Estabrook Professor of Employment Relations and Dispute Resolution.

“Ginny is one of the foremost labor and employment relations scholars in the world, whose analyses of the transformation of traditional German industrial relations institutions has been deeply influential,” said Alexander Colvin, Ph.D. '99, the Kenneth F. Kahn '69 Dean and the Martin F. Scheinman’75, 'M.S,’76, Professor of Conflict Resolution. “Her research interests are expansive, but with a common thread of concern for issues of collective voice and institutions.”

A professor in the Department of International and Comparative Labor, Doellgast’s research examines the relationship between labor market and collective bargaining institutions, inequality and job quality, with a focus on the U.S. and Europe.

Doellgast’s appointment went into effect on July 1. The post was previously held by David Lipsky, professor emeritus and former dean of the ILR School.
