ILR/Scheinman Faculty Featured At Upcoming International Labor Seminar
The International Studies Committee of the National Academy of Arbitrators (NAA) is hosting a seminar on “Labor Rights And Remedies Under Globalization: Implementing The Untied Nations Protect, Respect and Remedy Framework” on May 11, 2022, in Toronto as part of the annual NAA conference. The NAA is the preeminent organization of labor and employment arbitrators in the U.S. and Canada.
Members of the ILR/Scheinman faculty will have key roles as moderators and panelists. These include: Sarosh Kuruvilla, Andrew J. Nathanson Family Professor in Industrial and Labor Relations; Lance Compa, Senior Lecturer (Emeritus) Labor Relations, Law, and History; Desiree LeClercq, Proskauer Employment and Labor Law Assistant Professor; and Adjunct Richard Fincher who is a member of the Scheinman Institute Advisory Board. Jacquelin Drucker, also a member of the Scheinman Board, will be serving as a panel moderator.
The seminar will address some of the most pressing international issues confronting those working in labor relations such as: Trade and Labor Arbitration; The USMCA Rapid Response Arbitration (the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, the “new NAFTA”); Enforcement of the United Nations’ Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights; Enforceable International Brand Agreements; and Domestic Litigation of International Workplace Disputes.
