Undocumented Workers Need Our Help
In her March 17 guest column in NJ.com, Patricia Campos-Medina, an extension faculty member of the Worker Institute, says there are almost 500,000 undocumented workers in New Jersey who have no access to health care and who don’t qualify for public assistance. And, while New Jersey’s earned sick leave and paid family leave programs do not ask for immigration status, most of these workers don’t even know they qualify for this type of relief.
