Cynthia Gomez is the Deputy Director of Membership Growth, ROC United. She was born in Mexico and, at the age of 18, immigrated to the United States. She lived in New York for four years, working as a waitress. After her time in New York, she moved to Minnesota, where she has resided for the past 14 years. In Minnesota, she had the opportunity to work as an organizer at SEIU Local 26, where she honed her skills and eventually became the Lead Organizer and Director of Organizing. During her tenure, she successfully organized 1,500 janitorial workers to strike in order to secure a better collective bargaining agreement. Currently, Cynthia serves as the Deputy Director of Membership Growth at ROC United, where she is dedicated to developing and empowering restaurant industry workers to achieve safe and fair workplaces.
