Chris Fox
Chris is a social worker and organizer dedicated to the transformation of labor and the development of dignified, just and safe workplaces. Their specialties include OSHA and EPA standards for health & safety, mental health and workplace violence, as well as developing safety-minded leadership and effective health and safety programs. Chris joined the team at New York Committee for Occupational Safety & Health in Fall 2024 as a Safety & Health Specialist, where they provide worker education and consultation to unions, pre-apprenticeship programs, worker centers, consulates, immigrant laborers, high schools, labor activists and community organizations.
Chris brings over 10 years of experience to the team at NYCOSH, ranging from supporting working New Yorkers access services to organizing with immigrant day laborers to improve working conditions. Chris also is involved in the local and national worker cooperative ecosystem, as a worker-owner in a health and safety trainer cooperative business, as well as in leadership positions on the USW Local 4-318 E-board, USW Worker Co-op Council, the US Federation of Worker Cooperatives Union Co-op Council Executive Committee, and as an elected board member at the New York City Network of Worker Cooperatives.
Chris holds an M.S. in Social Enterprise Administration and International Social Welfare from the Columbia School of Social Work and is a graduate of the NYS AFL-CIO/Cornell University ILR Union Leadership Institute. They are an OSHA Authorized Outreach Trainer for General Industry and Construction Industry, as well as a CPR and First Aid instructor for ASHI.
