Maheya Afnan
Maheya Afnan is the Administrative Manager for The Worker Institute within the NYC Extension/Outreach Division of the School of Industrial and Labor Relations (ILR). With a strong background in project and financial management, Maheya plays a pivotal role in the success of the Worker Institute, providing oversight on the financial and operational aspects crucial to achieving the organization's objectives, overseeing administrative programmatic support needs, and ensuring the smooth operation of the institute's initiatives.
Prior to her role at ILR, Maheya held a significant position as the Admin and Business Manager for Administration & Finance at Baruch College. During her tenure there, she demonstrated her exceptional project management skills by overseeing financial activities and decisions for 13 departments. Her ability to conduct comprehensive budget analysis, including expenditure monitoring, financial trend assessment, and cost-benefit analysis, speaks volumes about her proficiency in financial management.
Maheya's diverse experience encompasses project management in various fields, including Higher Education, Finance, Law, and Marketing, which has equipped her with a broad and adaptable skill set.
